You seriously put him on a level with Rigondeaux, Floyd, Hopkins, Ward. I wouldn't even put Lara on a level with Wlad who is essential the same sort of specialized guy but Wlad has perfected it more.

Almost scary to watch, since they look like they're about to snap. lol In any event, this is boxing, not bodybuilding. Lara's legs have been strong enough to carry him his whole fighting career. The only times he ever went down were versus Angulo.
I guess that's what people were looking at when I squat 315 @ 150lbs. But I sure as hell don't go ass to ankle... 90 degrees. Lol

Anyway, he moved well on steady legs right after the KDs. So his legs are obviously fine.

At times it even looked like he was letting himself get caught inside on purpose (not saying that was the case at all!). But he moved so damn well after being KDed that it made me go wtf man why doesn't he just keep doing that.

lol I have to say, it was surprising to see Lara go all "Bambi on ice" after those shots, then immediately recover the way he did. Usually, when guys react like that, they either stay down or get KOed in the follow-up.

I have to disagree with the Wlad comment.

Wlad is fighting smaller guys while Lara is fighting bigger guys.

The Wlad part would be controversial because he is superior physically to most guys, but I would just say he has an obvious flaw and has adjusted his fighting style to damn near totally eliminate that issue, Lara could get to that point but he isn't there yet.

That's an excellent lift for a guy your weight. But, yeah, bro, it's probably a little scary to watch you in action.

That stuff actually happens, by the way. People snap tibias (shin bones) with very heavy squats and snap forearm bones on heavy benches. There's YouTube footage. I know of a guy who snapped his femur (thigh bone) when he tried balancing himself while slipping on ice. His thigh muscles are so thick and strong that they actually contracted so hard the bone snapped.

What in the ****... That's first time I hear something like that lol. And as far as the videos go, I hate watching them. IMO those type of accidents are probably the nastiest ones in a gym (the squatting ones).

And if his legs were any bigger, we'd be hearing complaints that his upper body is skinny. lol
Everyone is built different. Have you guys never seen guys fighting at 154 with big strong legs? You can be at a lower weight category but proportionally look built from the bottom up.

Yes can be like tree trunks! Does it have to be? No, but just in comparison, it's something obvious to note.

You're right. I'm not saying he hasn't perfected it but there hasn't been anyone to REALLY test him out.
