I couldn't tell you when his prime was, a big misconception is that he became a smarter fighter around his late 30s, Hopkins has always had great boxing ability but in his prime he had the athleticism and conditioning that allowed him to take fighters out of there whilst not getting hit. I can tell you his prime ended with Joppy that's for sure.

it ****s you up cuz then he went on to KO De La Hoya then loses to Taylor then later Calzaghe who most seem not to rank either of them high on the lists at all.

Well this is going to depend on a lot of factors but personally I'd say from the Mercado fight to the DLH ko were his prime years. His absolute peak though (peak = the best of the prime years when his physical attributes and skill combined to make him the best version of Bhop) was the Echols rematch to the DLH win, so that's 2000-2004.

            About 34-35.

You have to remember Hopkins started late.

People consider him green at the age of 28. He won his first world title at what? Age 29 or 30.

This isn't the case for the majority of fighters hence why he's managed to fight so long.

            Similar thing with Sergio Martinez.

I'd say his entire middleweight run when he made the 20 title defenses.

He was already a very good boxer when he fought Jones in 1993, he went undefeated like for 12 years after that loss. After his disputed Taylor loss, the losses started coming a little more frequently. But then he confused every one with his wins over Tarver, Pavlik and Pascal.

Hopkins has one of the most complicated primes in the history of boxing. That's judging from the see saw of his fanatics. They claim Tito and then not with Calzaghe and then back to it Pavlik/Pascal.
