Poor mismatch of a fight against a green weight drained hyped up opponent.

The fans were not happy and stayed away this time.

I've been visiting NSB regularly for years and there's certainly something unusual about the Maidana vs Mayweather. The busy traffic I was expecting was not there. High profile fights usually require logging in at NSB. This time it was like a normal day. That's why this fight got way less than 800K, imho.

Manny ain't on no 32 million guarantee

To think Floyd thought he would get 38 million on the back end, what a muppet, he gets nothing.

Got to feel for Maidana though only taking 1.5 million

Those use to be super mega numbers. I remember one time that people thought you had star status if you could do like 450. Now its either a mil or bust.

At the end of the day, I could care less either way. Its not going in my pocket. I just want to see good fights. F the numbers
Funny you only say this now that Floyd's PPV sales have bombed. You weren't saying this when Manny's numbers bombed. I'm not neccessarily saying thay you care about the numbers but very convenient of you to talk about it now.

To the tune of a random, unsourced 850+k? Wtf are u talking about, bro? Even if this number is true, which we have no idea if it actually is, Thats a great number. Showtime potentially losing money has nothing to do with the good ppv number that May weather generates, which continue to signficiantly out perform Pacquiaos. They decided to give him the money and he's doing his job by pulling in roughly the same numbers he always has.

I understand that you have different standards for Mayweather than you do Pacquiao, but Jesus Christ.

                tweet that.

You're right, he's on a publically stated 20 million guarantee that mysteriously always seems to ACTUALLY come out to be 6 million....but 40 million was an insult doe.

                    • In and of itself, 800k buys is huge. I think the difference here is Espinoza's comments that Showtime need 1.5m averages to justify Floyd's guarantee.

Taking that deal by itself, Showtime have taken a bath. I'm sure Espinoza would justify it by saying it was a pre-condition for an exclusive relationship with Haymon, important to have a flagship fighter etc etc.

It is interesting to see Floyd and Manny's numbers converge like this though. Pacquiao's drawing power hasn't been nearly as affected by the knockout as you might have thought.
