What a handjob about the gloves...the padding was fine in the glove for a puncher's glove. The reason the commission deemed those blue gloves inadmissible is because it wasn't packaged brand new because it was a custom decal'd glove. Argentinian colors and sun. The padding hadn't been tampered with just because they aren't the feather pillows Floyd is used to.

The commission ok'd brand new MX's that were stock red. They also ok'd Cleo Reyes and a number of other puncher's gloves. Floyd threw a tantrum and said he had to wear soft ass grants. They eventually settled on powerlocks which are a sparring glove and not comfortable for Marcos hand either... Needed Vaseline to fit his hand in the damned thing.

Floyd fans just let it go.... Floyd wanted to handicap the puncher, and still went life and death with the guy.

      Contrary to popular belief,
Floyd is really a true boxing professional and he handles his business to the fullest.

He does all the little old school things like training hard, putting in the work and treating his body right, always in the gym staying sharp.

On one of the videos I saw, I don't know if it was all access or just some other vid but they showed him talking about partying and being at some club event,
but when the cameras went off he was in the gym and he said...
"They think I'm partying all the time... That's just for the cameras and little do they know my black a$$ is in the gym all the time".

He really is about his business and is truly on top of things.
Yes he has a bunch of people in his entourage but if you look closely....
      Who do you see?
      People who make/keep him rich.
Everyone around him is working on something, From Leanord Elerbe, his cousin, his friends, even his kids mother. Everyone of them runs some kind of business of his or something he invested in.
But all people see is the Brash, Flashy, Bad Boy Persona, and that's what he wants you to see, meanwhile he's worth a Half Of Billion Dollars.

When are people going to stop with this ******ed shit? Guys who have never set foot inside a boxing gym who think boxers spar with 8oz gloves.

            Great episode. Thought Maidana won.

Ever since the fight ended, I've been saying that 8 oz. gloves are no joke regardless of brand. But the keyboard army think they are really 'pillows.'

I've been in the ring. I read about powerlocks they are designed to protect the hand.. And they have foam over the fist instead of horsehair.

Within the realm of 8oz gloves, certain builds offer more hand protection and others offer more power transference. It's usually up to the fighter which one they want, depending on what style they fight with.

                Obviously sparring was sarcasm.. I know it's not a 14 - 16 oz glove

                    Glove type matters...

There can be different structures that benefit different styles. Powerlocks don't benefit Maidana's style. He doesn't have brittle hands like your eternal hero

Fair enough, didn't mean to try and put you on the spot or ask for credentials online, I just get the feeling some dudes here actually believe that Maidana really fought in sparring gloves.

I won't disagree that it was a shitty move on Floyd and his team's part to not allow Maidana to use his choice of gloves (after the blue ones). I just hope if/when a rematch takes place, this won't be an issue and there won't be any excuses from either side.
