Bermane Stiverne vs. Deontay Wilder

Voted wilder by ko but don't know how anyone could definitively predict this fight. There are too many ?'s regarding both fightersComment

To me they will both be irrelevant. I'm a fan of Wilder but in the near Future he will not be the face of the heavyweight divison and neither will Klitchko. In two years or so, I believe Anthony Joshua will be the fave of the Heavyweight Division. In time I have no doubt Joshua will be holding a time; saying that in a year or two I would say he has a great chance to take Klitchko title.Comment

In the words of Bruce Lee
"Boards don't hit back".
Wilder fought nothing but stiffs!
Bermane will expose him like Gary Russell got exposed.
When the heat is on will Wilder run, or quit on his stool, or just fight to survive not getting KTFO. That's the biggest question about this fight.

Opponents of deontay wilder and THEIR common opponents:
jason gavern- has fought; alexander ustinov, amir monsour, lucas browne
nicolai firtha- has fought; johnathan banks, tyson fury, alexander povetkin
siarhei liakhovich-has fought; bryant jennings
audley harrison- has fought; david price, david haye
yea hes the only one that fought bums

First, ranking a boxer not by the guys he fought but by the guys who fought the guys he fought is silly.
Second, the guys Wilder fought all lost every single fight to the guys listed. So what is that supposed to tell us about Wilder? Wlad could beat up 10 average guys off the street, and so could Wilder... that's supposed to mean Wilder is on Wlad's level? Come on.
It's going to be an interesting fight and the first real test for Wilder. Either he is the real deal or he isn't. If he is, he will get a lot of respect, but I don't think he has what it takes. His career has been very carefully managed, and Stiverne isn't a pushover. He punches back and hard.Comment

I saw this and was surprised, Wilder has no real wins of note and Stiverne would more than likely ko everyone Wilder had ever fought as well.Originally posted by Freedom. In early lines, online sportsbooks have established WBC heavyweight champion Bermaine Stiverne as a slight underdog against unbeaten challenger Deontay Wilder on January 17 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Wilder is running as an early -150 to -175 favorite to defeat Stiverne, whose backers can get “plus” money ranging from +120 to +130 with a Stiverne win.Comment

What kind of odds were on offer when Chino fought Broner and Martinez faced Jr. ? Weren't the bookies way out putting Sergio and Chino as underdogs ?Comment

Honestly Wilder might lose to Stiverne because he may just not be good enough. I think that case is pretty simple if someone is a fake they won't beat a guy like Stiverne.
Now I have been fond of Wilder so I choose to take a more positive slant. If Wilder is for real Stiverne to me is the exact type of step up you want to put him in, it is a big step up in class but what Wilder does could be very difficult for Stiverne to deal with unless he himself can catch Wilder.
That makes for a fun fight, I will take the guy with the big power in this fire fight.Comment

Joshua will probably be the next champion but Wilder could very well be relevant in 2015 if he knocks out Stiverne. Unless Wlad pulls a Hopkins, there is no chance in Hell he will still be around during Joshua's prime. But Wlad-Wilder is a serious serious fight that could actually happen. To me they will both be irrelevant.
