I'm a huge Freddie Roach supporter but Sergio Martinez is gonna really hurt Miguel Cotto. I don't care if the best Miguel Cotto shows up to fight he's still gonna lose. It's gonna get bad for Miguel Cotto.

      Forget Pac and Mayweather.

Cotto has the balls to cut ties with Arum. He has the balls to fight Sergio. We need more fighters like MC. Win or lose Cotto deserves a ton of credit.

This thread makes grim reading. Going by what we see on this board I think Cotto's fans are actually worse than Floyd's and Manny's.

Yep, never seen so much excuses and butthurt from any other group. Alot of the Cotto fans are actually Flowmos in disguise however.

I see a ruff fight for Cotto even though he's one of my favorite boxers. Only way he wins is if Martinez body doesn't hold out. Wish both of them were 5 years younger. I'd still pick Martinez but a good fight.

Neither guy has fought Cotto OR Martinez, so they have nothing to do with this thread. I brought up Manny because he fights similar to Martinez. As for Manny's decline in power that you keep screaming about, lol, has it ever occured to you that Manny is turning 36 years old, he isn't 29 anymore, of course he isn't as strong as he was 5 years ago in 2009.

I think the only advantage cotto has in this fight is that Martinez is getting close to 40 years old and his body may break down half way in the fight. But I'm telling you right now if Martinezs knees hold up then there is no way in hell cotto beats him.
Even at this age Manny should have hurt Rios.
Great that you come up with excuses, I am coming up with facts.
I think Pacquiao fans are fanatics when it comes to Pacquiao.

The thing is will Cotto get credit? I feel like most are saying "If Martinez is completely done Cotto has a chance" which seems unfair. I feel like there are too many extremes in this fight.

It's either "Cotto is going to get killed" or "If Martinez is shot Cotto can win" which is kinda lame IMO since neither would get credit.
                Soooo true!

Cotto fans seem delusional but they have good reason and if you look at it they aren't really.

PR boxing is in the toilet. Puerto Rico really doesn't have any other stars. Cotto is basically it. so people cling to him because he's it.

you can say Danny Garcia but Garcia may never really connect because he wasn't born on the island nor is his spanish very good. he's Puerto Rican but really he's more American/PR

So Cotto is it for PR boxing right now and his fans will be fiercely loyal.

I'm a fan of Cottos, but IMO this is bad matchmaking...I don't see Cotto winning unless Sergio has a bad break with his knee or something. Even then I don't think he would KO Martinez.
