Ive never quite understood why Reyes gloves are called the punchers glove. Because even a none puncher would hurt someone wearing them. If Malignaggi wore them he would hurt people more.

First of all, the gloves were negotiated in the CONTRACT, not a day before the fight.

2nd, they fought 3 times and Pac got to wear his punchers gloves in the next 2 fights. Will Maidana get to wear his punchers gloves in the rematch? You already know the answer to that question.

Every fighter has different hand sizes and molds. Not every fighter's hands will fit inside of every type of glove.
Maidana for instance needed to use vaseline to get his hands inside the pillow cases.
There are also cases where fighters in tournaments have to fight with predetermined gloves that everyone uses.
When asked later why they weren't hitting as hard, most said they couldn't close their fist. Which results in loss of punching power.

Gloves make a huge difference, especially if you can't fit your hands inside of them, just ask OJ.

Im just stating that if you are a puncher then you dont need "special" gloves. If Malignaggi or Mayweather wore Reyes will they become punchers? If Maidana and Mayweather both wore Winnings would Maidana only hit as hard as Mayweather or harder?
