Geale better not be looking to trade shot for shot otherwise he is in for a painful night.

Am I the only guy in the tread that likes both guys ? Geale is a really tough, robust, former titlist who is no pushover.he certainly isn't turning up to lose like some of these other guys.

This is a damn good fight. If Geale can keep it together mentally and stay disciplined he could give Golovkin a tough nights work. I'm backing him to do that, but Golovkin to win on points.

He's the most accomplished opponent GGG will have faced, but he's going to beat his ass IMO. When he got hurt... a couple of times it looks like his natural response is to start throwing back....could work... or could get caught again

Hell no. I like both of 'em, both come accross as good guys as well as being two of the best at 160. Danny Geales' only two losses are close SDs and it's reasonable to consider him the most consistently proven opponent at 160 for Golovkin.

FWIW GGG is the only fighter I'd pick to beat Geale at 160 - some may be close, but I can't think of one amongst Kid C, Cotto, Murray, Rubio (obvs Sturm or Maravilla) who I'd actually pick to beat him (ie at better than 50 / 50).

Nonetheless, I'm expecting Geale to have a painful night, whilst making it a great fight.

Geales something of a mover, but Golovkins ability to cut off the ring whilst leaving few countering opportunities may force Geale to get in exchanges which IMO will be to his detriment.

I don't envisage a quick or one-shot KO, but a gradual breaking down of Geale, eventually slowing him in the later rounds to the point where he can b trapped on the ropes.

That said, Geale is not just tough, but quick and canny, so I'm not expecting this to be an easy ride for Golovkin - and if you think Geale can't **** when he wants, perhaps you oughta give the Woods fight a look over.

Nah.. despite the fact that I'm a big GGG fan, I'm more than aware that he's far from superhuman and I'd expect Geale to have a few decent moments in this fight and he may scoop a few rounds.

I don't envisage Geale taking any rounds in honesty, bar the first and maybe the championship rounds.Gennady really has huge question marks over his long term stamina and fatigue, whereas Daniel has none.

GGG has never had to retain his energy to rely on it in the final quarter.Geale has proven himself time and time again.now I'm not expecting a split or majority decision in favor of either guy as I'm neither expecting a landslide 12 round decision.if the fight goes as I believe,Daniel will take a round of the first two, before pinching a couple of the late rounds.

As much as I don't like to say this will be one sided,I don't see Gennady giving much away between the 2nd to 9th-10th rounds,Geale can't outbox the guy and he can't bully or swarm him.

The reach advantage isn't going to count for much other than using it as a good defence,if he can work it like a piston to somewhat subdue GGG then I have no doubt he will lose on points.

I rate Murray in the same bracket as Geale, certainy a level below GGG but also a level above Cotto,Soliman,Sturm n Rubio etc,Quackllin is firmly a level below all those tough bastards.

The way I see it is, GGG stays close and lands at the right time in the right spots and there's no doubt in my mind that he knocks out Geale. I like Geale as a fighter and more as a man but based on his Barker fight, I can't see him lasting 12 rounds with a guy with the pop that GGG has with his porous defense.

Not much boxing between now and July 26...

But the 26th will be an EXCELLENT day for boxing, with Fury Chisora II, Perez-Jennings and GGG-Geale.
