Yet once again, Chavez was always one of their primary targets, just like he was for Ward at one point (for obvious reasons for both parties); no circumvention involved. Also, even if Ward wanted to fight, his promoter is getting him fights anyway. I didn't want to have to defend Golovkin like this but people really need to understand what's going on and what's been said in the past regarding certain fighters and situations.
Is GGG avoiding Ward or the other way around?

Yes, Martinez lost his first fight at 160 against williams who isnt the lineal champ.
Martinez beat Pavlik in his second fight at 160 to be the lineal champ.
As you can see Martinez didnt go straight for the lineal champ when he moved to 160.
When do you see me carrying on like some of the other GGG fans, I know that he is untested and I want him to fight martinez asap.
Im actually a boxing fan, not some fanboy like a lot of the other posters.Comment

Because Ward is a p4p fighter and leagues above Chavez. Furthermore Kessler said he'd fight GGG at a CW and when he can, then surely Ward can as well.Comment

Wasn't Williams/Martinez 1 at middleweight? So that was the fight he jumped up for.
If I remember right he took it on short notice, too. Paul Williams on short notice is a hell of a lot harder than Kelly Pavlik.Comment

I'm not going to pretend to know how much real interest exists on either side for Ward/Golovkin, but considering the bull**** Ward's putting himself through I doubt he's in position to negotiate for anything, and I'm even more sure Golovkin's people aren't looking to make that fight.
A lot of the talk from earlier this year on both sides suggests they're hoping Golovkin finally gets a shot at the MW crown and the fight gets bigger before it happens.Comment

Ward says that nothing in the litigation should be preventing him from still getting fights while it plays out:
This isn’t a lawsuit where the judge has put a mandate or stipulation where I can’t fight. That’s not the case.....It’s not like we’re on the sidelines until this lawsuit is [over]. No, we’re supposed to be fighting.Andre Ward’s promotional struggles continue as the undefeated Super Middleweight is trying to break free from current promoter Goossen Tutor who he’s been with since his professional debut. Ward has a pending lawsuit against Goossen Tutor that was filed in California Superior court. An arbitration hearing held by the California State Athletic Commission this past Thursday found Ward’s promotional contract with Goossen to be valid until November 8, 2016 but Ward is still pursuing his court case. Despite the lawsuit, Ward informs that he is still free to make fights and work with his promoter but the problem is he has not received an offer since December of last year. Five months later Ward is on the sidelines and frustrated with his current situation.Comment

Well I'm pretty sure I've seen you accusing Martinez of "ducking" GGG.Yes, Martinez lost his first fight at 160 against williams who isnt the lineal champ.

But when people say GGG should fight Ward, you've got every excuse in the book. "He not ready doe!"

Well imo I think that martinez should have fought the other best fighter at 160 who is GGG.
Martinez decided to take on a bloated cotto instead of a legit contender.
I like the sport of boxing, not who has the bigger paychecks.
I have said it so many times, give GGG a few tune up fights at 168 and then by all means have a crack at ward.
You act like going up in weight and taking on ward is a simple feat, he is one of the best boxers in the world, you need to be prepared for that and not just jump straight into the deep end without testing the waters first.Comment
