Sounds like a good plan b. Quillin is collecting dust, clearly plateaued in the ring, monetarily, etc...to me, he isn't moving without a fight like this

So what though, can't he go and get it made as a free agent anyway? Why does Arum even matter in this conversation? HBO won't want to let Julio go and they want a big opponent for Golovkin, so can't they just take the lead and make this happen?
Exactly. Hbo needs to wake the f up.

Stevenson left HBO for a reason.
Now Chavez Jr leaves HBO for the same reason.

Quillin won't fight him, he'll want to fight someone like Les Sherrington.

lol Arum try to word it in such a way like its chavez fault the fight not happening, Reason there is no time or anything is cause Arum refused to negotiate with Chavez. Now he realized Chavez is never going to sign the extension so time to kill chavez name and try to destroy him before he goes to the other side.

Unless Al swoops, which of course he might, I think HBO will do their best to hang onto him. They can pay him above the odds for a nothing fight to see out his contract with Top Rank and then make the Golovkin fight with him afterwards.

On the other hand maybe HBO are just happy to let Showtime keep spending for now. I guess we'll find out.

He's damn good at it too..

look at how some people view Mayweather and it's all from persuasion done by Arum.
