Hope everything irons out, Schaeffer was doing everything for years, while Oscar did what he wanted, and now they are the top promotional company. With Oscar coming back to a day to day position, that's hard on everyone but Oscar, I hope he see's what he's doing and really tries to make it all work, and is also considerate to those that made his company what it is. It seems that a lot of people on here really do not like black people for some reason, the bias behavior is appalling and for a fighter to appease everyone's list of people they want them to fight in this day and age its damn near impossible , live with it..
we get bananas thrown at us in soccer games, NBA owners do not want us at their games or in their pictures, called ****** trash, monkeys, Gorrilas, go back to the jungle etc and this is what I am reading on this sites forums.. We can't go back to the jungle - we are stuck here and everyone has to deal with it - lolComment

Great post. Anyone who thinks a guy without a sincere bone in his body, like Schaefer, is better for the sport/fans than DLH is nuts. One has to understand his life to understand him. Oscar grew up very secluded, even though he was from one of the worst areas in LA, his father never let him do anything.
He never got into street fights, did drugs, dated chicks, it was boxing 24/7. So it's not a shock that in his later years he spread his wings. He was ****ing tons of chicks, having kids out of wedlock and then got into the drugs.
Oscar was a bad mother ***er in the ring, but I also think he missed out on a lot of love in his personal life especially from his father. His mother died when he was young and that affected him as well.
I see this behavior a lot among people who were never allowed to do things on their own early in life. Hopefully Oscar gets his **** together because I think down deep he's a good person and I think Sheafer is going to try and *** him over behind his back.
I met Sheafer in Miami for the Canelo vs Mayweather presser and he came off as one slimy mother ***er.Comment

From a purely business standpoint Richard has done a great job, this is personal for him and Al, they want to crush Arum with a passion. Although this is good corporate business strategy, its ultimately very bad for hard core fans who follow the sport. True fans know how many great match ups that could be made that would result in epic fights.Comment

ODLH has managed to amplify his egomaniac status through the roof!!!LOS ANGELES --- There has been a lot of talk about the internal problems between Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer.
A big part of the problem is De La Hoya's desire to co-promote major events with Top Rank Promotions and Bob Arum and Schaefer's unwillingness to work at all with Arum. De La Hoya and Schaefer shook hands and sat together for Floyd Mayweather's victory over Marcos Maidana this past weekend in Las Vegas.

ODLH is going to be the CEO and the majority share holder at the same time -- And he' s basically trying to keep Shaeffer on-board long enough till he learns the ropes. Essentially shutting Shaeffer out of the decision making process.
Good luck with that!!! One-man shows usually fail.Comment

Somehow two grown men working past their differences like adults is a problem for some. What's the worst this could result in? Seriously, oh each guy making a little less per bout they co-promote? Folks acting like this somehow affects their personal life. "I wanted to thank him"..wtf is wrong with that? People act like Arum didn't promote the fk outta DLH, like he had nothing to do with maximizing this guys success at an athlete, and people act like DLH didn't give Arum a lifeline and a great product that kept him relevant. Props to two grown @ss men being levelheaded and civil. Folks on here holding grudges when these two dudes can learn to let it go...many can learn a thing or two from this.Comment

You idiots are mad at Oscar for trying to make peace with Arum and giving boxing fans the fights people complain about not being made.Comment

I don't think ODH is doing that. He is aligning with ARum because he senses Haymon/Espinoza/SChaeffer are taking his company away.
Lets not make thiis out to be ODH trying to help fans, he's trying to save what is left of his company.Comment
