Good point, although I dont know about Brook or Guerrero, but if he can beat Alexander or Garcia I wouldn't mind Khan getting the chance.

Just let that sink in for a few.
Hey remember when the WBC had Khan as the #1 welterweight when he was still a jr welter?

I read that he was not opposed to fighting Pacquiao, but I haven't read anything from TR that says they're interested (not surprised).
I'd honestly be surprised if Khan fights anyone who can **** like Porter or Thurman. He passed on fighting Alexander to avoid being taken out of the Mayweather sweeps. You know he won't risk a KO @ the hands of Porter or Thurman! Also, he already lost to Garcia. He may be able to beat Broner, but Matthysse would kill him. Why go back down to LWW anyway, since his potential prize is @ WW?

The notion that Khan is ranked ANYWHERE IN THE TOP 10 AT WW IS ****ING DISGRACEFUL.

.That promoters have this much sway over sanctioning body rankings is terrible. I liked it better when the mob ran this stuff. the lawyers and businsessman are just ridiculous.

I mean the only thing worse would be a fighter with a 1-1 record and a guy whose beaten 20+ pieces of **** in a purse bid for a title fight. wait a sec...

Fitz seems to think that a Khan vs Mayweather fight is more compelling than a Maidana-Mayweather rematch. Maidana gave Mayweather hard times, whether one considers it pretty or not. It's a rare sight to see Floyd clearly uncomfortable in the ring. On paper, Khan looks like a good opponent because of his speed and combos. But a look at the not-so-fine print, reveals that one well-timed check left hook or lead right by Mayweather, can quickly reduce Khan to just another outclassed opponent.

Maidana did put up a great fight, but if anything the second time around would be easier for Floyd. I firmly believe that Maidana would have won if he didn't run out of steam in the second half... and that's not something that would be different in a rematch. Mayweather did adjust, yes, but mainly Maidana stopped throwing and coming forward.

I agree that Maidana ran out of steam in the second half of the fight. Besides his going full throttle in the first half contributing to that, I also believe that having the benefit of Garcia and Ariza for only part of his training camp to be a factor. I think for most of his training, He was in Argentina as he awaited the birth of his daughter. Garcia and Ariza weren't there. If he trains in the US for his entire camp next time, they could work on fine-tuning their strategy, and improving Marcos' conditioning.

The amount of hypocrisy here is amazing. Khan needs to beat this and that to earn a shot... Yeah, because Floyd's previous opponents beat monsters to earn their crack... Let's have a look at that.

Ortiz beat Berto, whose only really good win was a highly debatable SD over Collazo.

Cotto beat a one legged rabbi, the journeyman version of Mayorga and a plaster-free, half-blind Margo.

Guerrero beat Berto and Aydin (lmao). Both were top 10 at the time but neither should have been.

Canelo beat Trout, and that's a really good win, hats off to him, but beyond that he had literally zero wins of any substance at the time.

Maidana beat solid 2nd raters Soto Karass and Lopez, and then Broner. The Broner win looks very good on paper, but let's be honest, in hindsight, it's not all that impressive.

Overall, considering who these guys beat to "earn" their shot, Khan getting the Floyd fight off the back of the Collazo win wouldn't be all that outrageous.

This writer is stroking Khan a bit too much. Lets face it, Collazo is a C Level fighter and Khan looked pretty good in the win, but i wouldn't say it was impressive.
                    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
The only people that rank Khan up there are British clowns and Pakistanis. Khan is an idiot just like all of them. He keeps saying that he beat Maidana blah blah ... well, Khan got KO'd by Garcia and Prescott. Easily I might add.
He has done nothing to warrant a fight with any top WW and would get KO'd by Thurman or Porter.
This writer is clearly from the other side of the pond where they fancy fish n chips, tea and worship the fools at Buckhingham Palace.
So let's make it clear for them ....NOBODY IN AMERICA GIVES A ****E ABOUT KHAN.
KHAN IS A BUM WHO IS ONE PUNCH AWAY FROM BEING A GATE KEEPER AT WW AND THURMAN OR PORTER WILL DO THAT FOR US.

Amir has no chance against Floyd. There is a reason Floyd (Jr and Sr) want that fight.

Chino, Thurman and Porter are the ones who have the best shot. That's the next 3 fights right there.
