I don't think Floyd was being Sincere about a rematch with Maidana at all. He was just probably saying all that stuff so he can save face and not look like someone who is scared. Winning 4 rounds isn't enough to earn a rematch with Floyd. Winning or getting robbed against mayweather is enough to get someone a rematch. Maidana lost.

in a post fight interview he did also say(might be paraphrasing here) "IF there's a rematch or IF i even fight again you'll see a completely different fight"

i get the feeling at this point, where he's sitting at home, looking over the tape, he's likely thinking real hard about whether or not he wants to continue to box

all i can hope is that maidana is ready to throw even more, cause this 1 could end up not as fun as the last one. guys like danny,thurman,porter are on the cusp n not all the way groomed for a major fight like this. khan is huge but he cant fight in september.


only other way I see (outside chance) if he somehow fights winner of cotto/martinez, more so if its cotto

out of the three danny/thurman/porter i think danny is the closest to a big name , so he may end up just going with him

Mark my word. The rematch will not happen. The Mayweathers are talking about the rematch just to appease the disgruntled fans, not to mention team Maidana.

Unless Garcia beats Matthyse again or Provodnikov at 140 he won't get the fight. He's coming off an embarrassing fight against Herrera. Floyd only fights people coming off wins the public know about. We know his M.O. By now.
