What Floyd fan has said on this forum they want a rematch? Look at the first post on the first page.

That's exactly what's happening RIGHT NOW

First Floyd fans were saying "why do we need a rematch we won easy!" Now Rodger says Maidana deserves a rematch; and well... Here we are

[QUOTE=Beercules;14516020]It's so strange, the difference between Pacquiao and Floyd fans. When Pac 'lost' to Tim the first time, Pac fans wanted to see a rematch.

Floyd has a close fight, a very good argument can be made that he drew against Maidana; but Floyd fans don't want a rematch? [/

You can make an argument for a draw but it most certainly wouldn't be a very good one. Pacquiao lost a controversial decision and rejected an immediate rematch. Mayweather won a decision on a clear victory and says he is willing to do it again. Huge difference. But you're a Pacquiao fan and grasping at straws is what you guys do when it comes to making an argument. The fight wasn't that close. Just like the De la Hoya decision where the one judge scored the fight for De la Hoya. That fight wasn't close either. But the one blind judge gives the Mayweather anti-fan the ammunition to call for a rematch. Rematches are for questionable decisions and this one was not questionable at all. You would have to be giving Maidana credit for all the punches that he threw; the ones that landed, grazed, caught gloves and elbows and outright missed, to say that the decision was at all questionable.

I will like to see a rematch but if you think we are going to see the same fight then think again. I can bet anything Mayweather will keep his back off the ropes as much as possible next time and he will keep it in the middle of the ring. Its not going to be as exciting as this fight was.

Maidana swept the first 5 rounds and clearly won round 8. That's 6 rounds; what is that?

I think Maidana fought well enough to warrant a rematch. However, I'm more interested seeing them go their own ways. I see Mayweather winning a rematch more decisively like he did in his rematch with Jose Luis Castillo. I feel bad for Maidana because May 3rd was probably the closest he'll ever get to beating Floyd and he just came up short.

I'm certainly not the least bit surprised...this is a perfect example of when fandom starts killing boxing. I should say further killing boxing. Mofo's will campaign behind "facts" for six months while it's convenient and then turn the other cheek and campaign six months against the initial facts they first campaigned for. It's no different than what we saw with the jordan era, only difference is Jordan had no choices..he had to suit up. I can tell you there was a huge jump in bulls fanbases and heat fanbases from self proclaimed "life long fans" of said star player on those teams. 90% of these dudes didn't fk with boxing that seriously until late 2007, most i'll say started when the drama started in 2008.

How Floyd wins a rematch without constant movement and keeping himself off of the ropes Is the big question. The punches Floyd landed did not phase Maidana In the least and he will walk through them In the rematch. Floyd needs to run, stay off the ropes and jab, jab jab and hope like hell he doesn't end up tasting his own ribs a second time.

In the end Mayweather does deserve some serious credit, he took body shots that would have made a majority of fighters quit after 4-5 rounds, Instead Mayweather turned the fight around and battled back to win a razor close decision.
Tasting on his own ribs huh..? More like his own testicles. With all of the low blows to he hips and groin and intentional rabbit punches to the back of the head it's a surprise he didn't need a wheel chair after Saturday nights fight. I think in a second fight that Maidana better hope like hell that he gets another referee that will allow him to get away with every illegal tactic that he chooses to employ. And that's just to make the fight competitive. He didn't do any of that against Khan or Alexander and we saw how he did in those fights. How is he going to compete against Mayweather in a fight with a real referee is the question.

This was an issue for this fight and is again an issue for a potential rematch, Chino would need a good rest after his last two fights. He couldn't say no the Floyd fight, but he didn't rest enough after Broner. Just today a TV boxing commentator here in Buenos Aires said that it would be better if a rematch could be made in November or December. He seemed to have some off the record information. I don't know, but maybe this would be in the negotiations.
