If you're saying he swept the first 5 rounds then you obviously are giving him credit for all of the punches he threw, not just the few that landed. Just because his fans are screaming does not mean he is doing anything of any value in the fight. The judges definitely aren't giving as much credit for illegal punches landed as the fans are. And they shouldn't.

After Floyd shuts out Maidana in the rematch with pure boxing, everyone will say he was afraid of the power and ran the whole time^^^ Nobody can take anything away from Maidana, but the truth is Floyd cant always choose to fight like Andre Ward or Rigo because he has 3 more PPVs to sell without help from PacMan we can all assume. When he fought Canelo he didn't have to do much because the fight sold it self with Canelo's fan base and his, but with Maidana not being a huge name, he was going to have to keep it interesting if he wants people to buy his next PPV. That being said, it made for a great fight. Why else would Floyd stay in the pocket with a guy weighing 17 more pounds than him and a 80 percent KO ratio? I bet my life he wouldn't fight Pac like that because the fight would sell it self and the most important thing would be winningComment

Mayweather Maidana was a draw. At first I had Mayweather winning 115-113, now after watching it again it was 114-114.
The 'history books' will say Pacquiao lost to Bradley; but one can easily look up the fight and see that Pacquiao actually beat Bradley.
Also; I don't see any FloydTroopers saying they want a rematch.Comment

just re watched the fight again, I like how nobody has even brought up Maidana landing like 20 rabbit punches in round 1 alone, and throwing even elbow shots..but hey, it's Floyd getting hit so who cares, we just wanna see him hurt or lose, legal or not..or how come nobody has brought up Garcia encouraging him to get more dirty after round 8..I remember when Marquez was stepping on Pacquiao's foot to set up punches and P@ctard's went crazy, but if Maidana is called out, its ''stop complaining"...right after the fight I had it 115-113, watching it again 117-111 easy, rushing your opponent to ropes and missing wild shots doesn't score points. Floyd doesn't have an opponent for September, Garcia don't want it, Thurman and Porter are unproven, Pacquiao already lined up to fight Marquez/Alvarado winner, and Khan is taking that month off..perhaps Floyd going toe to toe was the best thing that coulda happened, because now he secures himself an opponent and for the first time ever he won't have to hear about "cherry picking'' since Maidana proved he wasn't that, he fought with no fear or respect, I had him losing, but he made it fun. all that dirty **** needs to be addressed thought.
it is boxing not a street fightComment

What Floyd fan has said on this forum they want a rematch? Look at the first post on the first page.
That's exactly what's happening RIGHT NOW
First Floyd fans were saying "why do we need a rematch we won easy!" Now Rodger says Maidana deserves a rematch; and well... Here we areComment

Like Roger Mayweather said "Floyd beat him easy" as in he obviously won the fight wide.
Marcos barely landed anything, but I enjoyed the effort he showed and I want to see a rematch, I believe the fight will be so dominant for Floyd that many going to give him the Roberto Duran excuse they gave when he rematched Leonard. Also leading up to the second showdown many is going to lose confidence after film study keep showing how many blocked and missed punches Maidana threw and how the ref didn't call him on his dirty tactics.
117-111 Mayweather is undisputed.Comment
It's so strange, the difference between Pacquiao and Floyd fans. When Pac 'lost' to Tim the first time, Pac fans wanted to see a rematch.
Floyd has a close fight, a very good argument can be made that he drew against Maidana; but Floyd fans don't want a rematch?[/
You can make an argument for a draw but it most certainly wouldn't be a very good one. Pacquiao lost a controversial decision and rejected an immediate rematch. Mayweather won a decision on a clear victory and says he is willing to do it again. Huge difference. But you're a Pacquiao fan and grasping at straws is what you guys do when it comes to making an argument. The fight wasn't that close. Just like the De la Hoya decision where the one judge scored the fight for De la Hoya. That fight wasn't close either. But the one blind judge gives the Mayweather anti-fan the ammunition to call for a rematch. Rematches are for questionable decisions and this one was not questionable at all. You would have to be giving Maidana credit for all the punches that he threw; the ones that landed, grazed, caught gloves and elbows and outright missed, to say that the decision was at all questionable.
Rematches are also for competitive fights, Floyd won but the fight was very competitive so why not. You can think the fight wasn't close and say anti fans want this rematch, I'm a fan of both fighters and want to see it again. That looping MMA Chuck Lidell overhand right is tough to defend, Floyd can say he wanted to give the fans a fight like that but I believe he had no choice in the matter, Maidana made that choice and forced it upon him.
I think Floyd will win again but you can bet your a*s Maidana will fight to the end and he'll walk thru Floyds punches again to do it. Do you have a problem with a fight like that.?Comment
