Should Maidana accept a rematch without MX gloves?

What you're not understanding is that this was all done in the name of "an even playing field". You can't have one fighter such as Maidana being comfortable with his opponents choice of gloves while floyd isn't. It's not fair and it's definitely not safe.Comment

no actually the night before the fight your god fraud decided to bypass the commission and think he's bigger than the rules and the contract. it was "different gloves or no fight" wtf is this? name one other time in boxing history where the fckng day before the fight the "A side" said "you wear the gloves I want you to wear or no fight!" then storms out of the building like a pu$$y a$$ b*tch and cries "no wonder these fighters be dyin'" and you fanboy suck it all up and repeat it.

You can go back to criticizing Floyd over the gloves all you want though. That's fine. Don't have a problem with that.Comment

if you follow baseball but to all the batters, it's just a wooden stick anyways and all you have to do is swing. Signed, a floyd fan.
But seriously, there are many different types of bats with different dimensions based on what you feel most comfortable with in your hand. Some guys like the weight at the barrel end while some like the weight distribution to be more even throughout. Some like a fatter handle while some prefer a thinner one. But let a floyd fan tell it, and it doesn't really make a difference. Same with gloves. "It didn't matter doe". So why the big deal if it doesn't matter?Comment

Should Maidana reject a high million dollar payday for a rematch, just because he can't use his favorite gloves or not? Most in the thread agrees that he should accept the payday regardless. And if a rematch happens, I guarantee that Maidana will accept wearing whatever Floyd says to wear.

The only thing is I don't care anymore what do they do -- their money, their business...
You watch this kind of fights if you like...Comment

I think that would be a Winky Wright type move. Why sabotage your chance at getting another $3-4million? Another Floyd fight would further set Maidana's post career life financially. If Floyd is giving you the rematch, just take, it'll be more PPV's from people who did not buy the first fight but regret it and would buy the rematch. Besides, how many fighters have gotten a rematch at Floyd? Castillo, that's it. Maidana would be in good company as one of only two fighters that ever gave Floyd such a tough fight that a rematch happened.
He has a better chance at asking for a slightly higher guarantee and getting it.Comment
