I wouldn't say they are haters per say.. Just that they are excited to see Mayweather in a fight.

Cotto did a little bit of stuff and actually more than Chino and you saw how people called robbery post fight there too

People look at the shoulder roll defense and forget about the punches that land to the body/shoulders. Top it off Maidana was pressing the action.

A punch landing on a shoulder is not considered landed , unless it is so powerful to cause 'damage' (i.e daze / stun) . In that case it is considered effective aggression.

It wasn't the case for el Chino.

Also, only the front and the sides of the body are scoring area, el Chino was smothering his own work and/or hitting Mayweather elbows for the most part.

I mean, seriously, even in those gif's I've seen around Maidana is mostly mauling and hitting Floyd's arms.

It would have been much more controversial if Maidana had gotten the decision. The overwhelming consensus is that Mayweather won a hard fight

Floyd won, but a 117-111 is a bit of a stretch. I think we all have a tendency to give close rounds to the person we want to win. Or at least the style we prefer to view. I like aggressive fighters so naturally I tend to give close rounds to guys pushing the action.

Effective Aggression and Ring Generalship are two of the four criteria that you have to judge a fight on.

Maidana was clearly was the boss of this most rounds.

Clean Hard punching, maybe an even split if anything you would have to favour Maidana.

Defence. Floyd, but Maidana did have his moments in the fight.

Close fight. Could have been called a draw or either way by a couple of rounds, but Maidana clearly had the better of the fight as a whole and in my opinion he won the fight 115-114
