Maidana had the perfect style....to lose the fight. He blew his wad hoping to get Floyd out early and lost a decision.
It's not like Floyd was gonna ko MM anyways, so it was always gonna be a points decision. MM just made it more competitive but still fell short-and this was a Maidana who was at his best, more focused than ever with a trainer who has given him the best run of success.
Maidana is no bum. He is a top slugger, but even with all of his pressure, power and blatantly dangerous fouls-he STILL got beat by a guy (who is at the tail end of his career) who threw half as much as him and used mainly defense.
He really only fought better than expected and people here act as if a headbutt is a scoring blow....smh.
