Paul Williams was a tall fighter with a pretty worthless jab...who wasted much of his reach.

He was tall, but he lacked great technique...and his volume punching could be decreased by countering.

Well, for some odd reason, he won 41 times and his only two losses came at the hands of other southpaws, which Floyd is not. Boxing is not always about technique, but the will of the fighter to make his style overcome his opponent.

Most of the best "boxers" he faced were southpaws...Quintana, Martinez, Mitchell, Wright, et al.

Guys like Matthysse, Cintron and Margarito weren't counterpunchers.

Floyd's ability to fight in transition and separate offense and defense have always been his greatest weaknesses. I was amazed to see Maidana holding his ground in the center of the ring, making Floyd miss, controlling distance, landing leads... We haven't seen anything like it in this type of combination and it's going completely unappreciated by the fanboys, know-it-alls and neophytes.

You do realize that Mayweather is 37 years old and completely out of his prime, right? Mayweather doesn't nearly move anymore, and is a shell of himself. He has basically been a shell of himself for a good 3 to 4 years now.

Mayweather really had trouble with Ricky Hatton. It's simple, Floyd is old and not prime any longer. He would of taken care of Margarito.
