Yeah but the red MX ones were approved right? No excuse man, and you can't even debate it. It was a b1tch move and that's that. Commission inspected the gloves, deemed them ok. That should have been it.

But you excuse this b1tchass behavior.

so where was the controversy when TMT fighters wore everlast mx or when marquez and guerrero wore cleto reyes gloves against floyd? horse hair gloves are only a danger to a fighter's health when legit punchers wear them.

... Before the fight, nobody knew what gloves Maidana will use -- because they didn't say a word on the issue...
... Only when Maidana entered the arena people could see he was gloved with Protech training gloves...
... As everybody was expecting Marcos to wear the red MX gloves, it's obvious that the gloves were not supposed to be an issue... etc...

This is nothing unusual to be honest. It's just strange because it happened so close to the fight. A lot of times in the past, the A-side would CHOOSE the opponents gloves. Lennox Lewis was just saying this on Twitter, that he normally chose his opponents gloves. Anyone remember Oscar choosing Floyd's gloves at 154 lbs (even though Floyd never fought there before)?

I think the main thing is that it just disrupts Maidana's preference of glove. But 8 oz gloves, are powerful and HURT no matter the brand. And that's not to say that there isn't differences between brands, because there are. But 8 oz gloves are no joke no matter what.

For anyone who says glove type doesn't make a difference, they never had adequate first hand experience in boxing. Glove type, independent of size(Oz) absolutely affect punching power, puncher gloves will allow you to hit at your peak power, any other forms will only reduce the impact of one's punch.

How you going to wear gloves where you can see and touch the knuckle? Just wear MMA gloves if that were the case. You haters are funny.
I guess that you are mistaking the blue customized Everlast for the red Everlast MX. The commission banned the blue ones but the red Everlast MX gloves were absolutely OK, hence the commission approved them.

But apparently Floyd only wants to fight real punchers with pillows in their hands.

A poor workman blames his tools and Maidana is acting like a btch complaining about the gloves. I've already stated that what Floyd did was wrong. But, the btching from Chino fans is even more embarrassing. Both parties look bad.

people still seem misinformed about this topic. it was no longer an issue of whether the custom blue everlast mx were tampered with or defective when leonard ellerbe still said no to the commission approved stock red everlast mx. they obviously had an issue with the glove's construction.
