No a close fight tells me that floyd might barely above the level of a shot cotto and maidana who are C+ at best. One thing for sure is that people aren't going to forgive his ducks by saying he would win in a fantasy fight; floyd would have stopped maidana in a fantasy fight lol.

rios doesn't incorporate veteran dirty tactics in his game, he doesn't cut off the, he doesn't punch from awkward angles, rios is not even close to as physically strong as maidana, and like you stated maidana uses his jab more.........i won't even talk about resume's because that would kill your argument but i will say that beating your last four opponents(three by ko and one by a one sided beat down) looks a lot better than coming off an L, just saying.

if floyd won a close fight against someone like bradley then it wouldn't be seen as bad at all......
That's my point since people had a perception about the fight of what was gonna to happen and since it didn't play out that way people are in shock. I really don't care about fighters win or lose I ain't making no money so me saying Floyd won doesn't really benefit me I'm just giving my input. At the end is great thus happened at less people can actually be excited about a Floyd fight. Every Floyd fight people expect him to win easy and boring. Also if he has more fights like this maybe he can finally win fight of the year. Floyd needs a gatti vs ward fight b4 he retires this way he can be consider the best of the best. They say a fighter who gets dropped and come back to win is a true champion. But if Floyd ever get drop even if he wins all the other rounds that's a lost for him cause he not suppose to get dropped just like this fight it was close fight so it was a lost.
Sometimes when you don't meet people expectation is like losing. What happen is everyone expected a boxing clinic even myself and we seen a close fight so Floyd loses even tho he won. But he really wins cause he still undefeated and now make more money for a easy rematch.. Who thinks rematch won't be easy?

With any fight that results in a decision you are going to have range of opinions. Some people had Cotto vs Trout a draw, while others had Trout winning by up to 5 rounds.

You do wonder, however, what the result would have been had Maidana been allowed to wear his puncher's gloves.

but even then maidana is not ranked top ten p4p...and is ranked outside the top 5 at ww...and like i said before is a crude, slow brawler...at least according to the transnational boxing rankings (which i find more to be a lot better than ring magazine rankings)...
              he was a 10-1

your point? because that's not the argument.....you have to be an idiot to believe that rios is a better fighter than maidana.

Floyd had a close fight with Maidana last night. It was pretty obvious. He didn't dominate him like what most were expecting.

There is no point. When you call yourself, the best ever, the greatest of all time, the guy who has never had to use is A or B game, you set the standard yourself. When you classify your opponents as C and D fighters, you set the standard yourself.
