It was close but he won. No one had Maidana winning - that is important. The ringside/studio commentators in the US and UK streams, the judges [2/0/1]. I had Floyd 7-5 up - a very close fight.
Landed more and at double the percentage so I cant see how he can be deemed to have lost.
I like to see the scores of those that you say that Floyd won. Floyd should have been losing after 6 rounds yet the Showtime and 2 of 3 judges had Floyd winning. That is not right.
Go check out the judge that had it 114-114. He had Maidana ahead by a score of 4-2. If you are objective. You would have Maidana ahead after 6 by at least 4-2. So if that is the case, I didn't see Floyd doing a 5-1 or 6-0 with the last 6 rounds.
Again Maidana could have done just as good in the final 6 rounds as he did in the first 6 and lost the fight 8-4 according to Showtime and 2 judges. They were wrong and if you guys are objective about it, its time to own up.
Note that even with incorrect early scoring by Showtime, Showtime had it close at the end.
If Maidana would have scored a Knock down or atlest won 2 more rounds, than yes he would have beat Floyd Mayweather.
Nothing wrong with that. To think if he could have scored a KD, and he would have beat the sports number 1 p4p
With those judges last night, Maidana had no chance unless he KOed Floyd. We all know that due to being forced to wear non-puncher gloves, Maidana would have a hard time doing that.

Rewatch the fight. From round 6 - 12 maidana wasn't nearly as effective and mayweather was scoring the more effective, cleaner shots. Remember mayweather landed more punches overall (not by much but still) with 50+% accuracy according to sho box.
i dont think he did enough to win, it was mad close but i think maidana busted him up more if were talking "effective" punches, just look at their faces after the fight, floyd was alot worse off
Floyd's face wasn't marked up. He had a cut from a headbutt, but he looked the same as he usually does. Maidana applied great infighting pressure, but besides the few body punches that he landed, he wasn't all that effective at landing consistently. Maidana controlled half of the fight with his workrate on the inside, but Floyd landed the better and cleaner punches. Whether in his prime or now, Floyd has always had trouble against fighters who applies constant pressure on the inside, fighters who can use their size and weight to push him where they want to push him, he has never been comfortable in those type of fights.
