The reason he didn't look so good was maidana brought it. He was able to walk through floyd's counters cut off the ring and stay right up in his face. Simple as that.

Floyd definitely won, he just wasn't as ruthless as he normally is.

When I was watching it during the fight me and my mate said the exact same thing, it was as if he didn't want to be in there, at one point I was wondering if his heart was in it. He looked like he wanted to do just about enough to win the fight and go home.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe he just overlooked Maidana and was surprised by his style on the night and hadn't anticipated him to be like that, maybe hes beginning to age (which I don't think because he looked incredible against Alvarez and when he was actually putting punches together he looked good last night).

There were people claiming Cotto beat Floyd on here straight after the fight, and that all died down after a few weeks, I think the same thing will probably happen here.
Sums it up right there for me. Floyd looked almost depressed even during the ring walk. Maidana did a lot better than i thought he would.

I too thought his head grew a bit, weird. I also agree Floyd looks slow to react to Maidanna, maybe it was Maidanna who was forcing the fight and landing cleanly on Floyd. I don't know just how much Floyd enjoyed them bodyshots.

Did you catch how Floyd almost broke Maidannaa arm and Maidanna just shuke it off and didn't complain?

No excuses. Mayweather's head wasn't in the right place because Maidana was launching punches at it.

All I'm seeing here is a bunch of excuses for Mayweather, which is fine if that's your game, but it's doing a severe disservice to Maidana.

Make no mistake about it - Mayweather looked like **** because Chino made him look like ****. He had no respect for him whatsoever, continuously pushed him to fight at a pace he was uncomfortable with, bullied him anytime he got him on the ropes, etc...

He didn't suddenly get old. He wasn't distracted. Maidana put it on him. Period.

              Give Chino his credit.

He didn't "let" Maidana do any of that. Maidana did it all on his own.

I've said it a million times before : The way you beat Floyd is by being physically stronger than him and bullying him on the ropes the entire fight. He's never coped well with guys who disregard his technical talents and walk through his offense.

Maidana did exactly that. Just not enough of it.

The official scores were a ****ing joke, though. 7 rounds to 5 at best for Floyd.

How do people not get this? All his toughest fights were against guys who could bully him and keep him uncomfortable. There's a pretty obvious common theme between Castillo and Hatton and Cotto and now Maidana. Yet everyone keeps saying pressure fighters are not how you beat Floyd? Why are they the ones who give him his toughest fights then?

**** if I know : The writing has been on the wall since Castillo 1. You must be blind if you're missing it. You just have to be a strong mother****er to get the job done.

What makes it even funnier is the fact that everybody dismisses these types of fighters when the Mayweather conversation takes place.

I won't lie : I didn't think Maidana would do as great as he did last night, either. Because I figured Floyd would be able to hurt him since guys like Lopez did. But he really didn't. Not to the head, anyway. Maidana's chin is much better than I originally gave him credit for. Round 7 was a good example of that.

Anytime Floyd fights a dude who can walk through his shots and get their inside game established he flounders. Which is why I've been saying Duran would eat him alive in fantasy fights for the past decade or so.
