Styles make fights. Floyd is well past his prime, but he does have problems with fighters who uses their weight to push him against the ropes and utilizes dirty roughhousing tactics.

Wll yeah back then. That was 2006. I'm saying from Cotto to now, I don't think it was much different. Maidana just had a better plan, and was able to capitalize early like no one else has in recent memory.

This has got to be the sorriest ass thread of the whole night. Be as it may, I disagree with your premise.

I think Floyd should stick around for the transition and give back to the fans by giving us that first loss and closure. Then I give you permission to make threads like this all you like.

This is not about floyd stans...this about my opinion. I was never one of those people who said Floyd was looking better with age...I ignored those type of comments.

Not sure he should retire he still has a few fight left yet but Lets be real here Floyd is 37 years old, he has slowed down compared to his peak physical years but he has gained so much experience that it off sets his decline and hes so good defensively that most fighters cant take advantage.

"Closure"? What closure? I think that's one of the most sorriest comments I've seen. Floyd does not "owe" you anything. It's ok that you disagree but Wow...

Mayweather has slowed guys, he's 37 ffs. People don't wanna accept it but it's the truth, you peak at like 26-30 and then the decline starts... it's inevitable. Nothing you can do about it.

Mayweather aged slower in his 30's but has rapidly declined now. He'll probably retire, or face some soft challenges.

I meant that metaphorically. Of course he doesn't owe us anything.

Roy Jones gave us that beautiful knockout loss Vs Tarver before threads like this started. Floyd should do the same. His aura of invincibility was always overblown as he is a fragile handed boxer who fought way less than any other "prime" fighter of his era, taking lots of breaks and avoiding lots of fights for a plethora f reasons. A nice loss with one last paycheck gives us all what we need before we move on to the "next big thing".

This is ridiculous. Let Floyd earn those gargantuan and unprecedented paychecks he's making by giving the fans excitement and risking it all. Nobody in boxing is untouchable, you were just holding Floyd to an unrealistic pedestal. He's actually my favorite fighter but no man is above the sport and as the still P4P top fighter today he still has many fights to give the fans. If he loses (like so many other greats have) then so be it, boxing has to run its course.
