Maidana fans gonna hate this one:
BoxingScene.com ran a story on Saturday where hard hitting Marcos Maidana’s fight with Keith Thurman, which was rumored to have fallen apart, was still being negotiated between Golden Boy Promotions and Maidana’s manager Sebastian Contursi. While Contursi and Golden Boy are indeed still in negotiations, it’s not for a possible Thurman fight for Maidana. Rather they are negotiating to find a replacement opponent for the Argentina native.

We want a tune up. But he's 17-0(16).

Funny how they claim Thurman is a JMW yet I see him fighting at 147. Same weight where he was gonna fight Maidana.

Worked out well for both guys...

Maidana is getting a floyd fight

Thurman is working his way up the ladder..

Plus now when they fight, it will be much bigger, and this story from years ago will help sell the fight

      Win-Win for both guys IMO

**** off you ******ed ****, you are by far the worst poster on this site. ****** c*nt.

Just like Danny ducked Matthysse right? And then after he ****ed him up you went hiding for months after talking all that ****.

Maidana recently lost in his first fight at 147, why would he face a no name risk in Thurman at his second fight at the weight class when he was probably contemplating whether he belonged in the division or not?

Thurman is the next guy you've latched onto after Matthysse got planted on his ass, Thurman has only faced D to C class opponents, his best win is Soto Karass FFS LMFAO.

Is that what you really get out of this story? I think you're reaching.

So you agree that Maidana ducked him?

Erm no, he chose not to fight him. Every guy who refuses a challenge is a duck?

So if Julio Diaz called out Mayweather and Mayweather said no that means Mayweather is ducking Diaz?

Maidana had just moved up to welterweight and had a **** performance against Alexander and probably wanted a tune up after losing to see if the weight class is right for him....

Back in the day no one knew Thurman. He was a prospect in his early 20s with nothing but 15ish fights. He was tune up material.

Of course now that everyone knows what Thurman is about theyre gonna say he isnt and wasn't a tune up.

I'm also pretty sure the majority of the posters were saying Maidana would beat him and I mightve been one of them too. Till Maidana pulled the duck out of the hat.

Seriously, did anybody even read this article?. Thurman admits that if he was in Maidana's shoes losing his first fight at WW, he would not have faced an unknown (at the time) Big punching WW who had also fought at JMW. he said he would have done the same as Maidana.

The big issue here for the July 2012 fight and Keith mentions it in the article is that Maidana wasn't even sure he was staying at WW and was just trying to get his love for the sport back.

Thurman doesn't seem to see it as a ***** move.

                    Nothing new here.

Maidana has a history of ducking. Maidana also ducked Bradley.

                      Didn't want to fight
                      Unable to fight
                      Could not fight
Kinda looking for a tune up

Don't matter how you say it or what words you use, they didn't want no part of Thurman. Plain and simply put. The article posted a few comments back is as straight forward as the day is long. Stop being a biased supporter. They wanted an easy fight so they ducked Thurman for the time being. Simple. Holy **** some of you are just plain morons.
