I don't think there's going to be a penalty unless someone can prove that Maidanas camp somehow tampered with the gloves. If the gloves weigh the amount they're supposed to weigh but the weight is distributed incorrectly then I think the fault lays on the manufacturer. It's one thing to take out the padding its another to redistribute it.

Maidana's camp is on record mentioning that they've been bugged excessively, in their opinion, by whatever anti-doping agency is in play. So Maidana's been well tested.

As far as the gloves go:
-If the contract doesn't stipulate otherwise
AND
-If the gloves don't violate the rules as they stand
AND
-If the relevant commission for the fight says they're OK
