It wouldn't be a level playing field if one fighter is allowed to use a prefered style and the other fighter has to conform. The only way to be fair is to allow fighters to pick any glove (style brand) with the same weight. The comission must examine the gloves and approve them. The fight contract in this fight did not limit which type(horse hair v foam), nor brand. It only said the gloves must be approved, the red everlast mx have been approved. If i were Garcia I would tell GBP, Mayweather Promotions, and the comission that we were going to use the the red everlast mx that were approved. If Mayweather doesn't want to fight (unless he has some stipulation in his contract that allows him to cancel a fight for any reason) he will probably get sued by GBP, showtime, and maybe even Maidana's camp.
