Not really, not unless you go up to sparring 16oz+ gloves. at the size these guys are wearing they do very little to reduce blunt force trauma.

I've worn, 10oz 12oz 14oz and 16oz glove.

And less padding the harder you can punch.

Even gloves the same weight, but differently padded, some more wrist support and less on the knuckles, like Reyes gloves, make you hit harder.

Obviously you have less protection there and you have less protection for your hands, but you hit harder.
