Padding is to protect the hand of the puncher, not the punched, it doesn't help any. Floyd should know this, it's freaking common boxing knowledge.

You can always tell a person doesn't know crap about boxing because they say stuff like "mma gloves hurt more". Yea, if you are hitting a heavy bag with them, you bet your hands will hurt more.

The way I read it was the commission ruled that certain pair of gloves weren't alright, but that Maidana could wear another with the same style/brand. I could be reading this wrong though.

Yeah, apparently because the pair in question weren't packaged when they offered for inspection. But Mayweather's team don't want Maidana using that brand at all. Don't think they have any grounds for that objection if the NSAC have approved the glove already.
