The defending champion, Mayweather came in at 146 lb. Maidana hit the scales at 146.5 lb.
The bout - which headlines on Showtime Pay-Per-View (9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. local time) marks the first ring appearance for both fighters, who enjoyed banner campaigns in 2013. Mayweather was honored by the Boxing Writers Association of America as the 2013 Fighter of the Year, for his convincing wins over Robert Guerrero and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.
