Are you sure about that? Everyone involved with the Macau card seemed pleased with the financial returns, to the point that TR is holding another card there with Nonito and they're already talking about potentially going back with Manny as soon as this fall. I know Koncz is not the most reliable source but he said that with the way that the financial structure is set up in China (not to mention the better tax situation) that they weren't overly reliant on the US PPV buys.

Plus they knew going in that overseas cards Historically are 30%+ lower than usual.

      True.

Pac vs Floyd still breaks all PPV records.

I will never understand why people actually want the PPV model to be the norm.

Pacman is popular, but not as controversial and outspoken a figure as Mayweather. Pacman has lost, Mayweather has not. Mayweather may naturally have an edge in PPV interest because people want to see him lose or marvel at his ability to win on his terms. He also plays to the American audience with his antics, sound bytes, etc.

He knows what he's doing to promote himself and the people around him know how to promote him.

Pacman is quieter, humble, etc. He doesn't play that character. It takes someone like an old Bob to hype him up as his dangerous buzz saw that he was years and years ago. However Pacman doesn't pay that off in his own words in front of the camera. He is very reserved and simply states that he's just there to do his job.

Pacman isn't a promoter the way Mayweather is. Pacman has lost, Mayweather has not. Mayweather will most likely have the better numbers because of that. However 800k+ vs Bradley isn't exactly a bad thing. But compared to Mayweather's 900k-2.0k+ range, it will always seem like a flop.

            They need each other.

nope.....all it shows is that bradley was the better fighter than bum bum rios and people are more likely to buy a fight that's intriguing or competitive on paper than a piss poor mismatch.

                  Doubt it.

You want to know what is the most telling portion of the article?

"HBO, which produced and distributed the pay per view, declined comment."

                  and "according to multiple sources"

The only times a network will decline comment is if the numbers being stated are incorrect. They aren't allowed to release the numbers. They can only confirm when their client releases them first. When they decline comment; the numbers aren't correct.

Bob waited so long to inflate the f--- out these numbers.

These aren't official. Im gonna wait for Dan Rafael to correct them like he did for the Rios fight. Bob tries to inflate numbers to increase leverage.

Realistically, this fight did around 500k to 650k Nothing better. Wait for it. It'll come.

i don't think these are official numbers either but i predicted 700k so i wasn't too far off, though it wouldn't surprise me if the numbers were inflated by arum......he's known for that.
