    ***8220;It was later disclosed that Haymon, with knowledge of the co-promotion deal between GYM and Main Events, was attempting to set up a bout between Stevenson and Golden Boy***8217;s fighter, Bernard Hopkins, with Haymon negotiating directly with Showtime to the alleged exclusion of Mr. Michel.***8221;
    Interesting.

          Whoa, Duva got a hold of an actual Al Haymon contract.

          Anyone know who signed with Haymon on March 2012?

          EDIT: Just checked for stories around the time. This must be Trout's or Quillin's contract.

            I'm not sure what will come of this but if nothing else it should help shed some light on Haymon and Shaeffers opaque business methods - this may well be the entire purpose of bringing them into the case.

            It's a pretty open secret that Haymon is in violation of at least the spirit of the Ali law, and this may open up discussion that could hopefully lead to a closing of the loophole of Haymon calling himself an 'advisor'.

            I'm sure Duva and ME aren't the only ones that are getting annoyed with Haymons behaviour and I wouldn't be at all surprised if HBO are giving her at least tacit backing.

              That Haymon/Scheafer want to buy out Hoya and that an actual investment group, Wadell & Reed, was contacted to help finance it are awfully specific details. I wonder how Main Events know this. I would find it hard to believe they would include this in the lawsuit if they didn't have any proof to show to the court.

                    Yeah, it'll be interesting what becomes of this, and how Haymons role is seen by the courts, because what happened with Stevenson allegedly was attempted with Chavez Jr.

                    So, is he just an advisor, or is he acting as a promoter?

                    You'd think a guy like Haymon would cover his ass/tracks, but I guess well find out.

                      So in a nutshell she is suing over what she considers a legally binding contract based on good faith and fair dealing? Why wasn't a contract drafted at that time and signatures captured? I'm not a lawyer, but I still don't see how, under law, a person is ultimately obligated to sign a future contract for a future fight, even if they agreed in phone conversations and memos months prior. Until the ink is dry on paper, how can this hold up?

                      This is a gross exaggeration, but what if Stevenson goes to press tomorrow and simply says, I just don't want to fight Kov because my mom said it's not a good idea and she's my most trusted advisor. Does the good faith and fair dealing still hold? I guess my question to the board is at what point does good faith and fair dealing not meet the threshold of a binding contract?
