I think you make some legitimate points here. I don't think it's any secret that Haymon (despite the criticism) has consistently shown his ability to negotiate sweet deals for his fighters. Even though he works with GBP primarily, I think this has more to do with the fact that most promoters (with exception of GBP and a few smaller promoters), are unwilling to work with him. If Schaefer leaves GBP I see Oscar and Top Rank suddenly opening the flood gates to try and make fights. I think their success would be short lived because Haymon will be right in the middle of any negotiations for fighters he has signed. Bottomline, Haymon will be the shot caller down the road.

You're right, even more right than you think. Haymon is already the shot caller. He's been the shot caller. And other promoters have been willing to work with him (DeGuardia, DiBella) and even Top Rank before everything went to hell. I don't know if anyone's noticed but he's signed a lot of fighters and is tied to even more. Might even steal away Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and who knows who else. If Schafer jumps ship, you're looking at a major coup and probably a changing of the guard. It wouldn't be wise for Oscar to try to get rid of Schafer and I wouldn't be surprised if this is Mr. "No, I didn't sign an extension" trying to break free.

Obviously. I made a post about exactly this, that if Schaefer gets fired, Mayweather/Haymon would hire him. No way a businessman as valuable as Schaefer gets left out to dry. DLH is not even a competent promoter.

Everyone knows that has sense that the only reason TR and GBP doesn't work is Shafer.. It's not even Floyd ..Its Shafer... GBP could hire another lawyer to do what Shafer does. Oscar was smart enough to hire someone the first time he will again.. You guys need to know how Golden Boy is the brand not Shafer..
