Golovkin isn't even a Top Rank fighter. Why can't this fight be made without Chavez Jr. signing an extension? Are they going to shelf him until he signs one?

Manny left Murad Muhammad to sign with TR so I dont think its fair to cite loyalty as a reason he is staying.

Never had that much interest in JCC Jr.'s career...too many Andy Lee's and Peter Manfredo Jr.'s in there for my taste.

It's surprising he'd fight Golovkin at this point in his career, but hey, if he wants the fight, make the fight.

I agree with you, Arum's promotional company is becoming less powerful and not a whole lot of big or known fighters want to sign with him. Too bad Pacquaio is too loyal and too trusting towards the Snake. Oh well, if he will be guaranteed $15 to 20 mil a fight, then he is alright. Not like Chavez and Mikey Garcia that were fighting a lot less than they deserve that's why they are not signing an extension, smart move.

But you know he probably only gets 700,000 after they deduct a lot of out of his guaranteed. I'm talking about Top Rank of course with the new contract and of course Koncz is getting a sizable portion.

@ loud, he is not in debt because of being under paid. He is in debt because of his incompetent lawyers, advisors or who ever is supposed to handle his taxes. If he is getting underpaid he won't be one of the highest paid athlete right?
