  • Comments Thread For: Lucas Browne Targets Winner of Stiverne-Arreola Rematch

Undefeated heavyweight Lucas "Big Daddy" Browne is anxious to accelerate his career. A late starter in the sport, the 35-year old - fresh off of a 5th round knockout of Eric Martel Bahoeli this past Saturday in England - now has his sights set on a major title, namely the winner of the upcoming vacant title fight rematch between Bermane Stiverne and Chris Arreola.

"Like every heavyweight my ultimate goal is (Wladimir) Klitschko, but I know I've got a few little things I need to work on before I'll be ready for that fight," Browne said in pleading his case for what he believes is the next logical choice. "Arreola and Stiverne are guys I'm interested in now. I think they've got the sort of styles that I match up well with and I think they're both fighters I can beat.

"If a world title was on the line against one of them, then even better." [Click Here To Read More]

"My ultimate goal is Wlad, but I know I've got a few little things I need to work on before I'm ready for that fight"

That has to be the understatement of the century. I seen many of Brownes fights now, and while he's never been good, he looked ridiculous the other day. I don't know what happened.

The French guy gave him the tiniest bit of movement and he was completely stumped and frozen, just plodded around doing FA. I couldn't believe it. A world rated guy, and commonwealth champion....it genuinely shocked me how **** he was. He looked like the local drunk brawler down the road at the pub. I thought he had potential, but I was either being too optimistic and convincing myself there were things there that simply weren't, or he's regressed.

    Australian heavyweight boxing.

Its a microcosm of the whole division.

Maybe Leapai can give him the blueprint

He didn't look good in his last fight. Carrying too much weight, I think. He wouldn't get near Wlad, even on his best and Wlad's worse day. But he has a punchers chance against anyone he can hit, so I wouldn't write off his chances against either Stiverne or Arreola.

Dude needs to get real, facing top ten guys and facing guys outside the top forty such as Baheli and Towers,it is ludicrous to belive he has a slim chance against these guys.that said, with his KO percentage if he was black and American he'd be considered in with a chance of beating Wlad on this forum.

Browne against Leapai would be an entertaining brawl. They're at a similar level and their clear limitations will never allow either to progress beyond that level.
