It's moot in the sense that they're not gonna oust one racist owner just to have another be part of the new ownership. That's not the only hurdle either, not only would the league not allow it the owners of the NBA would never allow it since their approval is needed when ownership of a team changes.
Floyd Mayweather interested in buying the Clippers?

Your speculations about what the NBA owners will do is moot. It's moot in the sense that they're not gonna oust one racist owner just to have another be part of the new ownership. I wasn't talking about the owners or what they will or will not do. I simply pointed out that the team is worth millions, not billions.
Nice try though.Comment

lol its not moot you were making it out like 575 million was nothing and you could just be a millionaire to buy one lol. dude you have to be a billionaire to afford to buy a team worth 575 million straight up. do you know the type of other expenses you have to pay to just purchase a team? Floyd is worth like $150 million total, he is going to need billionaire backers to buy the team and he will only be a minority owner.Comment

Even if this stuff were true, Floyd would likely just be a celebrity face for some ownership group. They'd be voting about who's putting up the capital, not Floyd. Sterling has been a known racist for years. How many felonies has Jay-Z rapped about committing? Jordan got his dad killed over ******** debts. In a league with rapists, felons, wifebeaters, and deadbeat dads do you really think an investment group would be rejected because of Floyd's rant? You can't be this naive. It's moot in the sense that they're not gonna oust one racist owner just to have another be part of the new ownership. You presented an imaginary number off the top of your head in response to another poster regarding the actual worth of the Clippers and I felt compelled to try and rectify it.
My second point was a response to your asinine way of thinking that the NBA would completely disregard Floyd's shady history and allow him to be part of a new ownership. I can assure you, his history "will stop him from doing anything" in regards to being part of an NBA franchise.Comment

No, I wasn't making it out to be nothing. I clearly pointed out that the team is not worth billions. Who really thinks Floyd would buy the team without anyone else in the first place? I never said Floyd would straight up buy the team either.lol its not moot you were making it out like 575 million was nothing and you could just be a millionaire to buy one lol. dude you have to be a billionaire to afford to buy a team worth 575 million straight up. do you know the type of other expenses you have to pay to just purchase a team? All I did was point out the team is not worth billions but millions. Floyd can very well buy a large portion of the team. All this nonsense about what the NBA owners will and will not do is moot. The team isn't worth billions and Floyd has the assets to buy a good size portion of the team and he's not a billionaire.Comment

No it wasn't just an imaginary number. I read about it earlier today and despite being off/wrong by about 200 million, I only recall the story because I remember it being significantly lower than what I would expect a team to be worth. I don't watch the sport and couldn't care any less about it. I just remember the number being lower than expected. Millions, not billions. You presented an imaginary number off the top of your head in response to another poster regarding the actual worth of the Clippers and I felt compelled to try and rectify it.

Again all of your speculations about what the NBA owners will and will not do is moot. Has nothing to do with what I posted. Clearly.Comment

Funny how some cry about the current owner of the Clippers, yet if Floyd were to magically become the owner, the same guys crying would praise Floyd(a racist).Comment

How bad do you think the NBA would look if they ousted the current owner because of racism but allow another to take his place? Kinda defeats the purpose of upholding the leagues integrity don't you think?Even if this stuff were true, Floyd would likely just be a celebrity face for some ownership group. They'd be voting about who's putting up the capital, not Floyd. Sterling has been a known racist for years. How many felonies has Jay-Z rapped about committing? Jay Z and Jordan's cases aren't related to racism, I don't know why you're using those analogies. The point is the league would look bad if they ousted sterling for his supposed racist remarks and allowed Floyd to be part of the new ownership group given his history in the matter.
I don't know where you're going with your third point. We're discussing ownership, not players. If a player said something racist they'd get fined and maybe suspended. When an owner says something racist people want new ownership.Comment

clippers are worth over a half billion. If you're not a billionaire you're not buying a controlling share of a team.No it wasn't just an imaginary number.
