    Former IBF lightweight champion Julio Diaz (40-10-1, 29KOs), 34-years-old, has announced his retirement from Saturday's third round stoppage at the hands of Keith Thurman, the WBA's interim-welterweight champion. Diaz was rattled a few times during the fight and couldn't continue after three, after suffering a rib injury from a hard shot to the body.

      DIAZ has been a warrior so far,i don't want to read something bad on him from boxing fans of the last minute because would be really ungenerous vs a man that fought honestly ever!!! Enjoy your retirement.

                  He had a nice career.

                  50 career fights at the professional level. 40 of those wins. 29 coming by stoppage.

                  Was in the ring with the likes of Shawn Porter, Kendall Holt, Keith Thurman, Amir Khan, Juan Diaz, and Castillo.

                  Nothing to sneeze at. Enjoy retirement, Julio.

                      I want to say keep going cause to be real he is not damage, but better to leave this sport before you start to show wear and tear. I just hoped he made enough money.

                                  Bit harsh, he has been through some tremendous wars its only fair he got paid for his final fight.

                                  He's not a disgrace like Malik Scott vs Wilder

                                      Before he shows wear and tear? He hasn't won a fight in two years and was in wars before that. Stuttering and shaking hands? Is that what you mean?
