thurman fan but keeping it unbiased i think he struggle's possibly loses to a come forward power brawler like maidana... he has been hurt in all his previous fights his defense is leaky ..he did manage to adjust and whoop azz but those guys were extra slow

Thurman is really good but he needs to stop dropping his hands. He probably won't do that with someone he knows who can hit hard but still.

Well at least you think so cause Maidana himself sure ducked him.

Maidana didn't duck him ***get. Maidana was coming off a bad performance to Alexander in his welterweight debut, so why would he fight a no name high risk when he's coming off a loss? STFU

Why didn't Thurman call out Alexander? Porter? Brook?

I dont think his chin is that bad,, He was gotten whacked by some big punches and yeah he gets rocked abit, but i havent seen him buckle, get dropped... I just think his defense is alittle leaky.. He seems to square up when he is on the attack, and being such an offensive fighter gives his opponents opening to land big shots....

I do think Thurman has improved with each fight, and needs to keep busy and learn his craft.... He will be a solid pro fighter when its all said and done

It looks to me like Thurman hits harder than anyone else at 147 including Maidana. I think he is more mobile and versatile than Maidana. I'm not downgrading Maidana, though. He is a good welterweight.

It doesn't concern me as much that a fighter sometimes takes a shot. If a guy is fighting aggressively and close enough to land his shots, then he's going to get hit back sometimes. So far he's dished it out in much bigger helpings. That is what I think counts.

We'll see what happens when he fights the higher rated opponents, but I think he has an excellent attitude. He's confident and wants to fight anyone.

Why are you here quoting me here? when the guy that I quoted just admitted Maidana did duck him. But regarding our debate, you have yet to respond.

Like I said in the master thread, I like Thurman but he has some flaws to iron out.

Last night I believe it was a left hook from Diaz that tagged Thurman; and he panicked. He didn't know what to do.

I thought the same thing until they showed Diaz whiffing wildly in the replay. He didn't land a thing when they said Thurman was hurt. Although Diaz did land cleanly a couple other times. Thing is all fighters get hit. So I don't see why everyone gets so critical when Thurman does. How he responds is more important imo.
