Thurmans fight yesterday, Man GBP has no shame.
Diaz is a freaking genious, he let GBP use him a bit, got his paycheck, and said "*** this, I'm goin home". There you go Thurman, another KO "victory" to be proud of (oh the irony)
They are building him up properly. HBO is doing the same thing with GGG. "Nobody wants to fight these guys." What they mean is nobody will fight these guys for the chump change we are offering them. It's all part of building them up. Once they are ready the networks will start committing more money and resources behind them. That way people can't "duck" them. But in actuality Thurman's fighting the right level of opponent for what they are paying for.
He's going to have some chin checking moments and if he passes those tests, because he does get hit clean, then he'll be able to outbox most opponents he faces. Let's face it, the GBP stable isn't as good as it's made out to be.. a bunch of solid guys but no one great, save for Floyd.
He reminds me so much of a B rated RJJ in his prime. He all know what happened when he stepped up his level of comp and his reflexes deteriorated just a tad. Thurman needs to work on that defense is all I have to say.
