I like Figueroa but I think we've already seen his ceiling. He's a limited guy.

I was never impressed with Omar so this didn't surprise me at all, especially since this guy had already beaten him 5 times in the amateurs. Should have been a draw or a 7-5 Belmontes decision. Abril, Vazquez, Crawford and even Linares embarrass this kid. His days are numbered.

Belmontes lost this fight. Didn't let his hands go in 2nd half of fight. Figueroa has no defense, but a lot of heart,

          Didn't DeMarco beat Linares though?

Belmontes won that fight. His lack of endurance appeared in the middle rounds but he still won most of them.
            On my scorecard I had Omar only winning 4 rounds.The 3rd, 6th,10th,and 11th.
A case could be made for the 5th round going to Omar but I gave it to Jerry for the cleaner harder hits that he landed.

I said it during the fight (just when the 12th round started) that they can call it a draw...
... This as I favoured Figueroa all fight long... and I liked the kid (until this night)...

I had the fight 114-114. Omar Figueroa is a paper champion.
Yea I didn't care for his comments in the interview, he was probably defensive because he knew he got a gift.

i doubt burns would come over here to fight him but who knows his options may be limited so another shot at the world title would be enticing for him.

last night showed us how one demential omar really is. Imagine if Belmontes had any kind of power? imagine if that was John Molina hitting omar? it might've been night night for Omar
