Instead of bashing Floyd which is all you seem to know how to do, what's your take on the thread topic?

Should a fighter be blamed for fighting his mandatories even if they suck?

Leapai wins one fight, immediately gets mandatory status and a Klitschko fight...timing was convenient by the WBO that's for sure. Pulev been mandatory for a while now.

Ok but that one fight was against the WBO's #1 contender in Boytsov.

I get that, but it feels like the second there was a short chubby beatable contender the WBO were given the nod to order the mandatory shot.

belt organizations and promoters are very closely connected. to not think that k2 promotions has some influence and say in who the mandatories are is pretty naive. we've seen guys become #1 ranked without even fighting in that division, we've seen guys who weren't ranked suddenly become miraculously ranked after they signed to fight a champ.

the leapai fight wasn't even a fight to determine the mandatory. it was a 10 round fight. then after leapai wins he is appointed mandatory which is very strange. there's a good chance the klitschko's saw a bum that they could easily beat and told the wbo hey if you could maybe appoint this guy mandatory we would appreciate it....a little quid pro quo. we've been nice enough to give you large sanctioning fees for years so do us a favor and give us an easy opponent. we both win. the fans lose but fu-kk um!

Boystov was a big favorite in that fight and should not have lost

We would probably be having this conversation anyway even had Boytsov won because he sucks too.

I'm not going to be mad at a guy for fighting who he is mandated to in order to keep his world championship.

I don't think there's anybody out there willing who he hasn't fought, aside from maybe Chisora and the Arreola-Stiverne winner. I expect that one of those three will be next. Maybe Pulev if he'll go for it.

Haye was the only hope and he got nowhere near. Wlad will now probably keep winning until he gets bored and retires.
