Highlight of the fight was when they showed Wlad's fiancee.

Bernard Hopkins was much more skilled than Jermaine Taylor or Chad Dawson when he faced them.

You don't seem to understand that styles make fights. Wladimir has exceled against shorter fighters whose only chance is to get inside but who lack the physical conditioning and skill to do that effectively. They plod straight in and he picks them off or, in the case of Povetkin, wrestles them.

A naturally athletic fighter who is tall and long (like Wilder) doesn't have to fight like these fighters. That doesn't mean that Wladimir couldn't beat a tall, athletic opponent. But like I said, it's going to show him a style that might be problematic. Wladimir's chin is vulnerable, I think his ability to control distance masks conditioning issues, and he has some bad habits (like leaving his left hand down).

Everybody, myself included, wants to see Deontay Wilder put to the test. What's wrong with asking the same of Wladimir? Or do you just want to see the heavyweight champ fighting shorter, out-of-shape opponents who only come to the table with a puncher's chance?

Do you think Wlad should **** down another short, B-level actress from the U.S. to tap into the American market?

I'm a big Wladimir fan, but carrying Leapai really annoyed me. Leapai was arguably the worst opponent Wlad has faced in recent times.

I'd just wish Wlad would be more instinctive and clinical.

Wlad has beaten seven opponents in title fights that were 6'5" or taller. He dominated all of them. I am not saying that they were all world beaters. But all of them were ranked higher than anyone that Wilder has beaten. So in my opinion when Wilder begins to fight fighters that are at least ranked in the top 20 in the world he is the one that has everything to prove. And until that happens his career is a huge question mark.

Ok - I had a similar opinion to you, but to be fair...ok, he could have got him out of there in 2 or 3 rounds less - but why? Had that happened, Leapai would be trashed even more, because people would say he was not only an unskilled bum, but also one with no chin. What Wlad produced was an aggressive and dominant boxing clinic v a sadly overmatched opponent who should never have been there - blame the WBO! But I enjoyed Wlad going out on him with a variety of punches, and great aggression. If he fought everyone like that, he would be a lot more popular. Went a bit Vitali-mode today.

Anyway, i'm not complaining for a KO5. The HW champ doesn't fight every day...we should try to enjoy this kind of skilled aggression while we can, before the division turns into a heap of unfit, slow, unskilled brawlers. Early stoppages won't do much good or difference to Wlad's career anymore. I like watching a boxing clinic of power shots, and Wlad showing his aggressive nature. So, in a way, it was good he carried him for a bit, and knew when and how to end it.
