For among other reasons to have an interesting fight. If Rigondeaux or Mayweather were to fight Klitschko what to do you think would happen? They would stay on their bicycles and never get hit. How would we score the fight if K is hit by tippy-tap punches but is unable to hit them?

How entertaining would that be? Ultimately a sport needs to be entertaining to bring in paying customers.

This is armchair warrior logic.

The fact that there are weight classes is a special rule.

Football, tennis, soccer, basketball,... dont have weight classes. So why does boxing?

You must be slow..
football you have lineman fighting lineman (hw vs hw), linebackers vs te/rb (about equal size and cb vs wr (same size speed)
Same for soccer

Basketball you dont see a point guard guarding a center now do you dip****

In tennis every one is around the same height weight the bigger guys are to slow for it
