Combat sports only make sense in context of weight classes. Obviously in a free for all, HW's would win. But they are not the most skilled fighters at this time.

Are lower weight classes in boxing kind of like the special oympics?

How entertaining would that be? Ultimately a sport needs to be entertaining to bring in paying customers.

They're much faster than him and I don't see Klitschko being able to close the gap. The end result will be a draw. A very boring draw.

You are not even comparing apples and oranges here, this is a whole new level, this is like comparing fruit and meat.

Obviously, but their sports dont involved being punched in the face by a guy much bigger then you.

I'm just saying we don't hit "special olympics" level until the 120 lbs & lower where guys are clinically anorexic for the sake of winning a title.Last edited by Fr3$h; 04-26-2014, 04:35 PM.

a good fighter is a good fighter, regardless of weight
there's good fighters/bums at higher weights and lower weights
there's good fights/boring fights at higher and lower weights
don't think less of the lighter weights
just hard to follow low on the scale, they never get much press/TV time
gotta read up on those guys and keep eyes open for a streaming link

Mayweather and Rigondeaux are physically inferior to Wladimir just like the athletes in the special olympics
Whats your take on this?
