You got guys like Mayweather and Rigondeaux who are considered p4p the best but Wladimir is the real king of boxing.

Mayweather and Rigondeaux are physically inferior to Wladimir just like the athletes in the special olympics

    Whats your take on this?

Mayweather - No. He's not that small. He's an average sized human male. He's just small compared to other professional athletes.

Once you get into the 112 pounders and stuff though yeah... I basically see it as kind of like the special olympics where half the battle is staying conscious at the weigh ins.

It's more like women's boxing, created to give smaller people a chance, they're not handicapped (other than by lack of size in a literal sense).

Some of the best fighters ever are in the lower weight classes. Welterweight has a strong claim for being the best division in boxing, both currently and historically.

What special rules are in the lower weight classes?

The fact that there are weight classes is a special rule.

Football, tennis, soccer, basketball,... dont have weight classes. So why does boxing?

read a boxing history book instead of acting like you are the first one to raise this question

For among other reasons to have an interesting fight. If Rigondeaux or Mayweather were to fight Klitschko what to do you think would happen? They would stay on their bicycles and never get hit. How would we score the fight if K is hit by tippy-tap punches but is unable to hit them?

How entertaining would that be? Ultimately a sport needs to be entertaining to bring in paying customers.
