Does he have any chance against Stevenson?

Hard to say. Fonfara is a young guy and Stevenson is reaching his late 30s so you never know. I can see Fonfara giving Stevenson some trouble early on and possibly hurting him but he better act quickly or his chances will become slimmer as the fight goes on.

Fonfara has a decent chance because I think he has power. He can't let Stevenson push him back, but I don't see what happened in the Bellew fight happening... Bellew looked to stay back because he felt like Stevenson was a guy who just sat back and countered.

Fonfara is good pushing forward, but absolutely crap when he's forced on the backfoot.
Worried too because I wonder how well his chin is. He got destroyed by Findley when he got caught with a counter hook, if I remember.

I think Stevenson will try to catch him with a counter left while he's pushing forward and KO him.... but if he can avoid that, I think his power is legit, but over an accumulation of time...not a 1 hit KO kind of thing.

If he beats Fonfara in impressive fashion, do you think he beats Kovalev?

I actually talked to his manager about that at a fight and he told me Andrzrej was really young and growing into his body when that happened.
He was saying he jumped 2 weight classes when he fully matured. I don't think he's lost since.
Fonfara can give Stevenson trouble but I am honestly worried about his defense.

He hits hard but he's generally not a one punch kinda guy.

True, that's when he was young. I hope he's not using any banned substances for this fight, got caught once already.

And I agree on that part. He has power, but it's more of a power that'll wear you down over time... not once punch. Saw it in the Campillo and Kaprency fight... two fights he was fighting behind on and came back.

He won't outbox Stevenson, his best shot is to keep landing and hope he doesn't get caught with something before he wears Stevenson down.
