Truer words have never been spoken. Nelo is good but he's got to get by Lara first, AND without the judges and/or ref in his back pocket. If he can do that, then he's definitely the truth.

HE says he fought in the weight class but never at 154. He wants to fight at 147 but will go up for the Canelo payday basically.

Power and ability to fight on the backfoot. Canelo trying to come forward walking onto Thurman bombs would be interesting.

He hasnt beat the best in his own division yet so i dont know why people would think he is gonna beat one of the best in a higher division. Hes got pop going for him and a cool sounding nickname but so do a lot of fighters.

Who has Canelo beat that makes him one of the best at 154? Angulo?

because most people on here had Trout beating him in the post-fight poll and Trout is not great.

The same can be said of Thurman's record, but let's not put Canelo on a pedestal because his record at the weight (when he actually makes weight) doesn't warrant it.

To be fair, he beat the brakes off Angulo. And the Trout fight was close. Trout isnt great but he is solid. Both are better than Soto Karass and Zavek.

Plus i never put Canelo on any pedestal

Depending on how everything plays out, this would be a great matchup at 154 by late '15.
