    Floyd's jab.

I've heard a lot of praise about Floyd's skills, but I haven't really heard a lot about his jab.

He has one of the best jabs in the sport. He used it successfully against Marquez, Oscar, and Hatton (in the 9th round of their fight).

Floyd has a good jab but it's far from great. He uses his right hand more often and more effectively and he likes to hook with his left hand more than jab. When fighters jump in and throw lots of punches, Floyd doesn't use the jab to create space, he likes to fight in the claustrophobic region, using his right hand and short, sharp hooks.

The jab is used as a range finder by him. Great jabs, by the likes of ALi, Robinson, Leonard, Holmes and so on were used as weapons. Floyd's jab is comparable to that of Wlad or Lewis, it's there to distract the opponent and be a range finder.

    Good but not great.

His jab is underrated, mainly because he doesn't use it as much as he did. Was impressed that he went back to it against Alvarez. At 130-135, his jab ranked among the best in the game. He discombobulated Corrales with it.

He's moved away from it as he's gone up in weight but when he brings it out, like he did with Canelo, its very effective.

FLoyd has a rather long reach for his size so you would think the jab would be more a part of his arsenal since its so effective.

Never been much of a consistent jabber but when he uses it it's very effective.

Most fights he'll use it, at some point. Just not consistently.

Truthfully, I don't see anything Floyd doesn't do very well. It's more a matter of the tactics he chooses to use in a particular fight. If he wanted, I'm sure he could win a lot of fights off the jab. It killed Hatton, and Marquez.

His jab is a good, effective jab. Now his jab to the body is great and one of the best, mainly because it's a lost art in the sport. I've seen him literally win fights with that punch alone. It's also the reason i never though Margarito was the threat people made him out to be to Floyd. The same way Shane used the jab to Marg's body that stopped him in his tracks and caused him to reset is what Floyd would have done minus the ending.

In the second part of his fight against Hatton he just completely took control of Hatton with that jab. Personally I think he should use it more
