I don't think he would be considered a legal resident if he didn't intend to stay there.
He is here legally yeah but the resident part is pretty iffy.
I mean think of every kid in college paying out of state tuition for college because they aren't residents of the state yet they live there. And work there. And basically live their lives there.
That rule btw is pretty silly if you think about it.Comment

Yes and that's the issue with the word residence and why it needs to be clarified. Permanent residence is not the only form of legal residence in the US. Work visas are another form, not permanent but still legal residents. They still spend time and make money in the country they have the visas for. They are still subject to the laws of those countries. They still have legal statuses in those countries. I don't know Loma's status. But I still see what Schafer doing as the right thing. If he's wrong, he's wrong. But asking for clarification is not a bad thing in this situation.Comment

Don't foreign fighters pay an extra tax because they are foreign? Even if Vasyl is getting paid more, after taxes he banks less then Gary.Comment

I think it only applies to vacant title fights bought to purse bid. Don't quote me on it tho.Comment

Arum may have punked GBP on this one.
Top Rank lost the purse bid but their fighter will end up getting paid more, with the money coming out of the pockets of their hated rival.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 04-23-2014, 12:12 AM.Comment

Do you really think Top Rank gives a **** about how much money one of the fighters in their stable makes? All Top Rank cares about is how much money Top Rank is making. And regardless of how much money GBP makes or loses on this fight, Top Rank is making NOTHING. High risk, low reward for what was supposed to be the prize pupil of Arum's Olympic haul.Comment
