    Cotto rules out Pacquiao rematch

Puerto Rican boxing star Miguel Cotto all but ruled out a rematch against Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, as not only do they share the same coach, they are also competing at different weight divisions now.

Cotto and Pacquiao fought in a memorable November 2009 show that saw the “Pacman” stop the Puerto Rican in the final round after a highly entertaining welterweight showdown.

Since that fight, Pacquiao has fought mostly at welterweight (147 pounds), while Cotto now fights at the middleweight division (160 pounds).

Cotto said it is unlikely that he and Pacquiao will ever fight again as he has no intention of going down in weight.

“I’m fighting at 160 right now. Manny’s at 147. I’m not going back down,” he said in a ****** interview.

They also are both being trained by Hall-of-Famer Freddie Roach, which Cotto considers the best decision he has made in the last four years of his career.

“Freddie is a professional the whole way,” said Cotto. “Freddie has his time for Manny, time for me, and time for the rest of his boxers. He splits his time pretty well among everybody.”

“It’s good to be around the kind of fighter like Manny Pacquiao. It makes me work harder,” he added.

Roach will be in Cotto’s corner when he challenges WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez for the belt on June 7 at the Madison Square Garden.

Pacquiao has also expressed his intention to go to New York to watch that fight.

Why would he want to fight a guy he barely won a rd. off of. If I were him, I'd go after Floyd. You know Floyd will take that easy ass fight. And his fans are actually cool with that rematch!

Cotto probably cant make 145 again so I can see why he wouldn't want to rematch a fight he lost by a wide margin.

        We know this already.

They tried to make the fight in 2012 but they couldn't agree on weight then.

Cotto's not going lower than 154 and Pacquaio's not going above 147.

Pointless rematch anyway Pacquaio batters him 10 times out of 10.

I wouldn't mind some sparring footage. Don't need to see another fight though.

I thought everyone knew this already. Apparently fighting Marquez at 147lbs was less risky (WRONG!).
